tvScientific is in search of a highly motivated Backend (Python) Engineer to join our expanding team!
As a Backend Engineer with expertise in Python, you will collaborate with a small group of remote engineers to enhance our data reporting platform tailored for CTV/OTT. You should possess a deep understanding of fundamental engineering principles and practical experience in software engineering practices such as automated testing, version control, deployment pipelines, infrastructure management, and agile planning.
You should also have a proven track record of developing and maintaining restful APIs. We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to crafting exceptional products with a strong focus on the end-user experience.

What You'll Do

Develop efficient, high-performing features, APIs, and systems that adhere to industry standards and seamlessly function across various browsers and platforms.

Create code and systems that are not only efficient but also maintain qualities such as cleanliness, readability, speed, testability, documentation, and monitoring.
- Take ownership of delivering new features to the production environment.
- Collaborate with both internal and external teams, as well as fellow software engineers, to deliver a user-friendly and engaging product for our customers.

Engage closely with our other awesome engineers within a small, informal, and remote team setting.

Contribute code regularly within a fast-paced, agile environment with a continuous deployment approach.

You’ll Be Successful in This Role if You Have/Are
- A great attitude! Egos are not part of our team culture.

4+ years of experience working with Python backends.
- Proven production experience with mySQL/RDS.
- Familiarity with working on Python-based web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar alternatives.
- The ability to write both integration and unit tests.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent.

Adtech experience.
- Specific domain experience in CTV.
- Familiarity with AWS services.
- Experience working within a microservice architecture.
- Previous involvement in a production environment with a customer-facing reporting and analytics system.
- Familiarity with Apache Druid/Athena.
- Knowledge of Linux and AWS technologies.
